Directed by Nigel Caplan

The Tempest is a tightly-woven story of revenge, romance, politics, family, magic, enslavement, and farce. Prospero, once duke of Milan, has been stranded on a not-really-uninhabited island for 12 years with his daughter Miranda, enslaved wild man Caliban, and a magical spirit whom only he can see, Ariel. He has spent his time studying magic and preparing an elaborate revenge on his brother, Antonio, who deposed him and forged an alliance with Milan’s traditional enemy, Naples. Now, Prospero has conjured up a storm to shipwreck the King of Naples (Alonso) as he is traveling home from his daughter’s wedding, accompanied by his son and heir, Ferdinand, his trusty advisor, Gonzalo, his brother, Sebastian, Antonio, and other members of his household – his trusty jester, Trinculo and his butler Stephano. Through a combination of supernatural powers and human emotions, Ferdinand and Miranda fall in love, Prospero is restored to his dukedom, Antonio and Sebastian rise and fall, Ariel is freed, and the ship sails on to Naples.
